Global Women's Studies
Welcome to Global Women's Studies
In the Global Women’s Studies program, our minor, projects, events, research groups, and honor society celebrate the contributions of women throughout history and explore the ways structures, systems, and events affect women’s lives and contribute to social inequalities. We recognize that gender and other identities have profound impacts on women’s lives locally and globally. GWS students learn to effectively communicate women’s accomplishments and challenges orally and in writing. The program encourages students to apply their knowledge in their own lives, to make informed choices about their own behavior and decisions, and to improve the lives of women and families and effect positive change in their communities.
I believe in women, especially thinking women.
Emmeline B. Wells
God denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.
