Experiential Learning Funds



The Global Women's Studies program awards available experiential learning funds to undergraduate students who are GWS minors or who are involved in GWS-related experiential learning activities. These activities might include the Human Rights/Women's Rights study abroad program, a GWS-related internship, or mentored research leading to a GWS capstone project, honors thesis, publishable article, conference paper delivery, or creative work, among other opportunities.  

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be undergraduate students at Brigham Young University, and they must be pursuing an experiential learning opportunity. Preference will be given to Global Women’s Studies minors and students participating in GWS-sponsored experiential learning activities.

USE

Grants must be used to support participation in GWS-related experiential learning activities.

AMOUNT OF AWARD

Grant amounts will vary based on activity costs, number of applicants, and available funds.

LENGTH OF AWARD

One term (one-time deposit when program costs are due or near the beginning of the term in which the experiential learning activity will take place). This is a one-time award. Students may reapply to be considered again.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The GWS executive committee reviews proposals three times a year on February 15, June 15, and October 15.
