Fiji Cultural Immersion in Village Life

The central aspect and focus of this program is the cultural immersion of living with a Fijian family in the heart of a traditional village. While in the village, you will also engage in efforts coordinated by local NGOs and the Fijian government aimed at youth empowerment, mental health promotion or a community development building project.

Students of this internship are selected for work in four areas: Social services with the elderly at les Petits Frères des Pauvres, Administration at Université Catholique de Lille, International trade at the U.S. Commercial Service in Paris, and Education as English assistants for the French Ministry of Education TAPIF program.

Global Health: Belgium

This innovative new internship location, in collaboration with the Belgian Center for Occupational Hygiene (BeCOH) provides excellent opportunities for international learning as students focus on environmental and occupational health analysis. Students will work directly with chemists and technicians at BeCOH focusing on sample analysis using cutting-edge equipment and technology, results interpretation, data entry and analysis and the occasional fieldwork projects.

This innovative new internship location, in collaboration with the University of Brasilia, provides excellent opportunities for international learning as students focus on a variety of public health issues from tropical diseases to outdoor air pollution exposures. Students will work directly with researchers from the University of Brasilia regarding continued field work, data gathering, and data analysis on these projects.

Global Health: Ecuador

In partnership with Child and Family Health International (CFHI), students can elect a global health internship experience in Ecuador. The program is based in Quito, where students have the opportunity to live with a homestay family. The duration of the program is four weeks. There are options for Spanish and non-Spanish speakers.

Shadow physicians for 20+ hours per week, observe multiple specialties, and gain a more global perspective of medicine and health care firsthand.
