Clinical Training & Culture in Italy

Italy holds a distinguished place in the history of family therapy, and this intensive 2.5-week program gives clinical graduate students direct access to its living tradition. Open to graduate students in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work, this program provides clinical training in cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and strategic family therapy at some of Italy's most prestigious training centers. Students will also engage in self-of-the-therapist development through immersion in Italian culture, deepening their clinical abilities by examining their own values, identities, and biases within a new cultural context. Students will visit places like Venice, Milan, Florence, and Rome, experiencing key aspects of Italian culture, including history, art, music, cuisine, and family life.
