SPAIN AND MOROCCO
STUDY ABROAD GENERAL EDUCATION (SAGE)
Learn the evaluation tools and use them in the field.
PEAT: Spain & Morocco is a comparative field program where students learn real monitoring and evaluation tools (interviews, observation, participatory methods) and apply them across communities on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar. Over the course of the program, student will develop and use their evaluation toolkit throughout Spain and Morocco, comparing how communities have responded to shared historical, environmental, and economic challenges. It's hands-on training with the same rapid, comparative evaluation methods used in professional development and nonprofit work.
We will visit:
- Barcelona—Sagrada Família and fieldwork in El Raval
- Córdoba—the Mezquita Catedral and Jewish Quarter
- Granada—the Alhambra and the Albaicín
- Cadiz—Europe's oldest continuously inhabited city
- Chefchaouen—the "Blue City" and the Rif Mountains
- Fez—historic medina and women's cooperatives
- Marrakech—Jemaa el Fnaa and the souks
- Casablanca—The Hassan II Mosque
