Paris: Les Tours de France

Dates: 4 September–25 November 2026 (approx.)
Application Deadline: 20 February 2026

Over the centuries, pilgrims, artists, authors, artisans, tourists, and cyclists have all toured France, each creating their own idea of the Hexagon. This program will study multiple Tours de France, retracing important itineraries and considering Paris and the provinces through a range of historical and cultural lenses.

Students will visit key pilgrimage and religious sites in Paris, Chartres, and in southern France (Rocamadour, Lourdes), and explore art in the Louvre, the Lautrec Museum in Albi, the Musée des Augustins in Toulouse, Monet’s gardens in Giverny, and the Caves of Gargas in the Pyrenees.

In addition, trips to Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire Valley will expand students’ appreciation and understanding of France’s regions and their culinary, architectural, and historical significance.

Finally, Paris will be the primary backdrop for learning about both France’s past and its present. Students will earn credits by exploring sites from the Roman era to the present, including venues associated with tradition, revolution, faith, reason, and innovation.
