Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji: Wilderness and Wildlife

Dates: 29 April–31 May 2026 (approx.)
Priority Deadline: 1 November 2025
Application Deadline: 1 December 2025

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch koalas hanging from eucalyptus trees in Australia or witness the indescribable diversity of coral and tropical fish as you swim in the Great Barrier Reef? Have you seen a flying fox in person? If not, then this is your opportunity. This trip is going to take you on a voyage through some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes, home to an incredible array of endemic plant and animal species. You will have an opportunity to interact with indigenous people and cultures, providing you with experiences that could change your life. This trip is the quintessential definition of BYU’s motto: the world is our campus.

“Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you . . . of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth . . . of things which are at home, things which are abroad . . . and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—that ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you.” (D&C 88:78–80)
