Dutch Design Week

Dates: 17–26 October 2025
Application Deadline: 31 March 2025

City-based Design Weeks provide design practitioners with large venues to exhibit their work and discuss current design issues. Dutch Design Week (DDW), which takes place in Eindhoven, Netherlands, is the largest design event in northern Europe and one of the most vibrant as a channel for experimental designers. With more than 2,600 designers exhibiting work in over one hundred locations across the city, students will have plenty to see and do. This study abroad outcomes include expanding your career path awareness; building your network; experiencing culturally significant museums, buildings, and sites; exploring design graduate school opportunities; enjoying multidisciplinary interactions, personal exploration time, and one-on-one discussions with faculty; and increasing your disciplinary knowledge. We will travel to Antwerp to visit the Plantin-Moretus Museum printing museum and stay in Amsterdam to experience the Rijks and Van Gogh museums, ride our bikes through the city, and eat Dutch pancakes.

Preparation

Accepted students are required to participate in an international, cross-cultural preparation course (IAS 201R, 1.0 credit hour). This course will be held first block of fall semester 2025. Part-time BYU students will need to pay an additional tuition fee of approximately $352.
