Why do men think about the Roman Empire so much? How have ancient civilizations, from Greece, Egypt, and Rome to the Anglo-Saxons and Druids, shaped the world we live in today? On this exciting program we will trace both the actual worlds built by ancient cultures and the way modern culture has rebuilt the ancient world in stories, plays, operas, paintings, and film. We’ll walk in the Romans’ footsteps from the Via Appia and Pompeii to Lutetia (Paris) and Londinium (London), visiting iconic landmarks, connecting with international artists, and growing spiritually, intellectually, and creatively. With faculty-led excursions and hands-on learning, you’ll leave with lifelong memories, meaningful friendships, and a global perspective—plus plenty of gelato and fresh baguettes! Enjoy Europe’s springtime, without the oppressive heat and crowds that fill the city and its museums later in the summer. We'll visit Rome, Florence, Volterra, Cairo, Luxor, Athens, Crete, Paris, and London.
