Preparation

Foreign language skills are not required. Academic partners are prepared to host English-speaking students. This program is open to all majors and is ideal for anyone considering a career in allied health. No prerequisite courses are needed (those taking EXSC 460 should have taken CELL 220). Students will participate in multiple exercise-based activities like swimming, hiking, biking, etc. No experience performing these activities is necessary. While swimming is beneficial due to visits to thermal bath treatment facilities, it is not required.

Accepted students are required to participate in an international preparation course (IAS 369R, 1 credit hour). This second-block evening course will be held during winter semester.

Students must meet all country- and program-specific COVID and health requirements for travel.

International study programs are physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing and you must be in good health to participate. These programs often take place in international locations that do not have the same level of safety and services in terms of transportation, living conditions, residential accommodations, food, public behavior, and policing that you may be used to on campus. If you have further questions or concerns on this, please see our travel policy.
