Are you an undergrad or graduate student with an interest in foreign affairs? Then consider applying for the Young Leaders Initiative Program (YLIP).

The YLIP was established in 2018 by the American Committees on Foreign Relations (ACFR) in an effort to engage the next generation in the conversation around foreign policy. It provides talented students with an exceptional learning experience in Washington, D.C. from 31 May–2 June 2023, and includes meetings with diplomatic personnel, discussion of pivotal issues, participation in simulations, and dinner with a foreign ambassador. Details on the scheduled itinerary, cost, and other details will be provided as they become available.

The Salt Lake Committee on Foreign Relations (SLCFR), a member committee of the AFCR, will help defray the cost of the program for two selected students by providing scholarships of $1,500 per student. The scholarships will cover the registration fee, including the cost of hotel, most meals, and local D.C. transportation during the program, as well as the approximate cost of round trip airfare from Salt Lake City to Washington D.C.

Selection of recipients will be based upon their application, essay, and reference letters. The completed application packet should be submitted by 5:00 PM on 27 March 2023.

To apply for this scholarship, follow the instructions provided in the application form.
