Come listen to Tiffany González, Assistant Professor of History at James Madison University, discuss "Chicana Politics: How Women Shaped the Political Sphere since the 1970s" at this fall 2022 Global Women's Studies Colloquium event.

This presentation treats the ways Chicanas ushered in the inclusion of more Chicanas in the political sphere in the 1970s. The stories of women who were part of La Raza Unida Party and the Texas Women’s Political Caucus shaped both the Chicana/o Movement and the Women’s Movement, as well as the representation of more Latinas in American politics.
