Jeff Rands, a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer, will speak at this Latin American Studies event.
Jeff Rands retired from the U.S. Foreign Service in late 2024, his last assignment leading the sanctions policy team on the Venezuela Desk. He has also served in Kabul, Afghanistan, Cairo, Egypt, Seoul, Korea, and Doha, Qatar. Diplomacy was a second career for Jeff. Prior to government service, he worked in strategy consulting and real estate. He received a B.A. in International Relations from BYU and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
