Using Conversation to Bridge Divides

Wednesday, February 19

Advances in technology have made us more interconnected than ever. At the same time, we experience increasing polarization, loneliness, and the shrinking of the public square. It has become easy to retreat into like-minded silos to express our like-minded opinions. Skilled conversations are a key building block that enable better understanding and relationships, provide a pathway back to one other, and help build strong communities. This talk will illustrate how to have meaningful conversations that bridge divides.

Becca Kearl is the Executive Director of Living Room Conversations, an organization connecting people within communities and across differences since 2010. She also sits on the Steering Committee of the Bridging Movement Collaborative where she leads national training and place-based bridging efforts and is a co-creator of the National Week of Conversation (NWOC).

Part of our winter 2025 lecture series, "Building and Brokering Peace."
