Students of the Ancient Near East

SANE

Welcome to SANE, where we are invested in all the wonderful things the Ancient World can offer! Our goal is to create an environment where Ancient Near Eastern Studies students can connect outside of the classroom, and a place to introduce non-majors to the world of the Ancient Near East. We provide opportunities for students to work together and support each other in their academic studies as well as events for them to connect and learn from BYU faculty and visiting scholars.

Monthly: Soda Scholars, come enjoy drinks and talk about research with your fellow students and faculty!
Annual SANE symposium, where our students present their most recent projects in an academic conference-type event.
