ISP Film Festival Winners Announced

Still from the winning film “Everyone Deserves a Halo” by Makenna Buhler

Congratulations to the 2023 winners of the International Study Programs Film Festival, who were announced at the International Study Programs Film Festival held earlier this month as part of International Education Week.

The film festival, which has been held for over a decade, invites students to submit a 60-second video about their study abroad or international study program in the last academic year. The winners receive cash prizes, and the winning videos are posted online and used for promoting international study programs.

The theme for 2023 comes from the Aims of a BYU education: students were tasked with showcasing how their experience was spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, character building, and/or played a role in leading to lifelong learning and service.

The 2023 winners are the following:

1st place winner: Makenna Buhler, “Everyone Deserves a Halo
2nd place winner: Kaitlin Wride, “Experiencing France
3rd place winner: Sarah Palmer, “Seoul to Soul

Honorable mentions are Chloë Robinson, Morgan Topham, Payton Pingree, Naomi Christensen, Avery Crockett, Jenny Finlinson, and Ethan Johnson. These top videos can be viewed on our BYU Stories Abroad YouTube channel.
