Student Clubs
Society for International Studies

The IR student club is now known as the Society for International Studies (SIS). It is open to students of any major who are interested in international studies. SIS holds regular social, service, and academic activities with an international theme throughout the year.
SIS is also the gateway for students to join Sigma Iota Rho, the national honor society for international studies. Interested juniors and seniors can apply during the Winter semester for the annual induction ceremony in April.
SIS partners with the Kennedy Center and the International Society to provide professional development to students. Members can sign up for mentoring with the International Society’s global network of Latter-day Saint professionals.

Other International Clubs
BYU also sponsors a number of other clubs popular with IR majors:
- The Foreign Service Student Organization (FSSO) helps students meet with foreign service officers and learn about the foreign service exam and careers.
- The National Security Student Association (NSSA) helps develop national security writing and analysis skills to prepare for government careers.
- Students for International Development (SID) helps students learn about ways to reduce poverty worldwide and how to get involved.
You can find all of these and more at the Kennedy Center clubs and publications page. (Scroll down for NSSA)
