Canadian Studies

BYU Canadian Studies is an interdisciplinary group of faculty and students with interests in Canadian history, literature, politics, economics, and many other academic disciplines. Affiliated with the Kennedy Center since 1983, Canadian Studies sponsors the annual Asael E. and Maydell C. Palmer Lecture, which brings an outstanding scholar of Canada to campus each year; we also partner with other Kennedy Center programs and academic departments to host events that foster understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect between the United States and its biggest trading partner and closest ally.

Funding

We invite full-time faculty and students to apply for funds to defray the costs of research, conference presentations, and other activities associated with scholarship in and about Canada. Applications are reviewed twice annually, with deadlines on April 1 and November 1. Awards are capped at $5000, but amounts awarded may vary.
