What is your job/position?

I’m an associate director of human resources for a Fortune 500 company. I work with an organization on their “people problems” and find people-related solutions.

Describe the path that took you from your American Studies degree to your current career or life situation.

I was able to attend the Washington Seminar at BYU, where I interned for a nonprofit. I was led there from my American Studies degree. After graduating, I worked for the for-profit entity of the same organization and have grown from there.

What are the specific competencies you cultivated as an American Studies student that you now use in your professional life and that set you apart from your colleagues?
