Have you ever wanted to design and build your own bike—from scratch—and then ride that bike in Europe, while visiting amazing sites and businesses such as CERN, Brompton Bikes, the WHO (World Health Organization), and Cadbury Chocolate factory, among many others? The purpose of this study abroad program is to engage you in an exciting manufacturing/engineering-design experiential learning opportunity. The experiential learning opportunity will start in England, where you will be building your own bike (design, brazing, welding, etc.) in a small bike building academy. No experience needed—they’ll teach it all to you. After spending time at the academy, we will take our newly minted bikes to the Netherlands (to experience the bike culture of Amsterdam, while visiting various technology and engineering companies), then we’ll go to France to visit a few bio-engineering companies, and then train to Switzerland to visit CERN, UNWHO, and many other great sites. This is the study abroad program of a life-time: learning, coupled with skill building, and great cultural experiences!
