The Siena Internship program offers students the opportunity to live and work in one of Tuscany’s most enchanting Gothic hill towns. For seven weeks students will become well acquainted with this beautiful medieval city and its ancient walls, narrow cobbled lanes, profusion of churches and small museums, and one of the most beautiful city squares in Italy, Il Campo, where families and individuals come to kick a soccer ball, savor gelato, and watch the scene. Siena also provides an ideal central location in Tuscany with easy access to many important cities such as Pisa and Florence which we will also visit during the program. Before traveling to Siena and beginning internship work, we will spend the first week exploring the splendors of Classical and Baroque Rome. Students may request internships in their individual fields of interest. Past students have worked in the hospital, with social services, city accountants, museum curators, at a radio station, at the Jazz University, assisting the legal team of a non-profit organization advising refugees, and teaching Italian and English to refugees.
