Preparation Courses

All students planning on participating in an international study program must register for a prep course before their departure. This class is a cultural preparation course related to your specific program. The class is 1.0 credit hour, taught by the faculty program director(s) and taken taken during the second block of the semester before leaving.

After receiving your acceptance e-mail, enroll in your prep course through MyMAP on myBYU just like any other BYU course. Search for the prep course under IAS (International and Area Studies) and look for your corresponding course. If you are unable to locate your course, please contact your faculty program director or the ISP office.

Those students who are not in Provo the semester before departure should contact their director and arrange a way to receive the prep-class information.
