Professor William Clayton joined the BYU Law faculty in July 2018. Prior to entering legal academia, he worked as a Corporate Attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York City, and he was the Executive Director of the Yale Law School Center for the Study of Corporate Law. His research interests are in the areas of investment funds, contracts, corporate governance, and securities law, and he teaches courses on contracts, business organizations, and corporate finance. Professor Clayton holds a JD from Yale Law School, an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BA from Stanford University.
