Utah was the first place women voted in the U.S., and the first state to elect a female state senator. Who were these women? And what were the conditions that made these political firsts possible? This presentation will explore the women and men who established Utah as an incubator for women’s advocacy in the 19th century and will ask how we can regain that energy in the 21st.
