Luca Bonomi is president of the Società Dante Alighieri of Siena, Italy. In January 2016, Bonomi was elected chairperson for the Cultural Commission of his beloved contrada la Torre in Siena. In March 2011 and 2013 he was a visiting scholar at BYU, teaching and lecturing on the lyric operas of Giuseppe Verdi. He has a degree in music and theatre from the University of Rome in La Sapienza and a PhD in teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners from the University of Perugia.
