Jack A. Goldstone is the Virginia E. and John T. Hazel Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University and a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Previously, Goldstone was on the faculty of Northwestern University and the University of California, and he has been a visiting scholar at Cambridge University and the California Institute of Technology. He is the author of Revolution and Rebellion in the Early Modern World and Why Europe? The Rise of the West in World History, and he has appeared on NPR, CNN, Al-Jazeera, Fox News, and written for Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, the Washington Post, Al-Hayat, and the International Herald Tribune.
