Dr. LaShawn Williams will combine her expertise and compassion to discuss how members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can build a better future of race relations. Dr. Williams is a clinical social worker with a doctorate in Education. She has worked for years as a counselor, focusing on relational change strategy, and owns the practice Relational Spaces. She is also an assistant professor of Social Work at Utah Valley University. A lifelong member of the Church, she is often called on by the media and Church members to illuminate difficult and significant issues related to race and the Church, and co-founded the Black LDS Legacy Committee.
