He is the chief speechwriter for Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), having first joined the senator’s staff as an intern in 2013. Lyman has written over 200 speeches, including the senator’s eulogy for the funeral of Muhammad Ali—an event that was viewed by more than 220 million people worldwide. As chief speechwriter, he also provides strategic communications counsel to the senator and senior congressional staff. As a congressional staffer and in a freelance capacity, Lyman has ghostwritten op-eds in the New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today, Time, National Review, RealClearPolitics, and US News & World Report.
