His Excellency Budi Bowoleksono assumed his present assignment in 2014, having previously served as secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and ambassador to the Republic of Kenya in Nairobi, which also covers Seychelles, Mauritius, Uganda, UNEP, and UNHCR. Since beginning his diplomatic service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986, Bowoleksono also has been assigned to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York, the Indonesian Permanent Mission in Geneva, and the Indonesian Permanent Mission in Vienna. He and his wife Reshanty, also a career diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are the parents of one son.
