A parody rapper by hobby, Andrew Dougherty is the China economist and Asia research director for Capital Strategy Research. Dougherty joined Capital Group in 2004 as a participant in the Associates Program (Capital’s two-year investment management rotational program) and founded and has been based in Capital’s Beijing office since 2009. He received a BA in economics and international affairs from George Washington University and an MPhil in Modern Chinese Studies from Cambridge University. Dougherty speaks Mandarin Chinese and Russian.
