Scott Hutchison is a vice consul at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Hutchison will be joining us to discuss his experiences, as well as to answer any questions about the Foreign Service Exam (FSOT) and how to live in an area of the world where the Church is not organized. He is fairly new to the Foreign Service, being first hired as an asylum adjudications officer in Anaheim, California, by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Hutchison has both a law degree from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and a master’s degree from the Korean Language Flagship Center at the University of Hawaii where he received the NSEP Flagship Fellowship and the Donald C.W. Kim Fellowship for the top graduate Korean scholar. He understands the necessity of adapting to surroundings in new countries and how to do it with a family, too.
