Daniel Evensen currently serves as the special assistant to the minister counselor for Consular Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China. Evensen has served in Beijing for two years and will remain there through summer 2019. He previously served in both the Political and Consular sections of the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, as well as in the Consular section of the U.S. Consulate in Shenyang, China. Evensen served a mission for the Church in southern Germany and Austria. A BYU and Chinese Flagship alum, he graduated in 2008 with a double major in international relations and Chinese and a minor in German. He is fluent in German, Chinese, and Korean.
