Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens was appointed consul general in May 2016, after having served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development since May 2003. His diplomatic work has included organization and internal management of the ministry (as special advisor for financial affairs, 2003–05; as advisor to Minister Laurent Fabius for administration and budgetary questions, 2014–16); global governance in the health and humanitarian field (as negotiator at the permanent representation of France, UN New York, 2008–11; as deputy director of human development, 2012–14); and bilateral relationships (as deputy head of mission, Embassy of France in New Zealand, 2005–08). Originally from Normandy, Lebrun-Damiens graduated from the Strasbourg Institute of Political Studies and is a former student of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration.
