Jennifer Sudweeks is a 15-year veteran of the Foreign Service who has led visa operations at two of the largest consular sections in the world, Embassy Beijing and Embassy New Delhi. Her team in Beijing includes 50 visa officers and over 100 local staff. In New Delhi, her team adjudicated over one million non-immigrant visa applications annually. She recently returned from Bahrain, where she assisted in the processing of evacuees from Afghanistan. In prior assignments, she was responsible for fraud prevention in West Africa in the Bureau of Consular Affairs and also served as the NATO analyst for the Bureau of Intelligence and Research. Previous assignments include Consular Affairs at Embassy Seoul and Consulate General Shanghai. She speaks Norwegian, German, French, and Mandarin. She and her husband Ray, also a Foreign Service Officer, are proud alums of BYU’s Kennedy Center, where she earned an MA in International Relations. They have three daughters.
