Come hear from Erich S. Gruen, who will be a visiting lecturer for the ANES (Ancient Near Eastern Studies) program. He will be speaking on “Antisemitism in the Pagan World” in the second of two lectures this week; ANES majors and other students and faculty in ancient studies are welcome.

Erich S. Gruen was the Gladys Rehard Wood Professor of History and Classics at the University of California—Berkeley, where he taught from 1966 until 2006. His numerous books include studies of Roman and Hellenistic history and, more recently, works on the status and experience of Jews in the ancient world. Dr. Gruen remains actively engaged in research, writing, and mentoring.
