Dr. Dean W. Carver served for 27 years as a Central Intelligence Agency analyst and manager covering Asian political, military and economic issues. In 2020, he began teaching as an adjunct instructor for UVU’s National Security Studies program. Dr. Carver holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Weber State University, and speaks two dialects of Chinese: intermediate-level Cantonese and conversational Mandarin.
