Scott Hutchison currently serves as a special citizen services officer in the Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. The highlight of Hutchison’s time in Seoul was serving as consular on-site support in Pyeongchang during the 2018 Winter Olympics. He has been a consular officer since 2014, with a previous assignment as American citizen services officer in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prior to becoming an FSO, Hutchison was an asylum officer with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Los Angeles Field Office and worked in international arbitration in the Republic of Korea. Hutchison received a BA in Asian studies from BYU, an MA in Korean from the University of Hawaii, and a JD from the University of Utah.
