Ray Sudweeks is a sixteen-year veteran of the Foreign Service, currently posted in Beijing, where he covers northeast Asia security issues and U.S.–China relations. In addition to working in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Sudweeks has held posts in Farah, Afghanistan and New Delhi, India. Fluent in Korean and Mandarin, he received a BA in international relations and an MPA from BYU. He and his wife Jennifer, also a Foreign Service officer, are the parents of three girls.
