His Excellency Matthew H. Tueller was appointed U.S. ambassador to Yemen in 2014, having previously served as ambassador to Kuwait. Tueller’s other assignments include deputy chief of mission in Cairo, Kuwait, and Doha, political minister counselor in Baghdad, political counselor in Riyadh, and chief of the U.S. Office in Yemen. He received a BA from BYU and an MPP from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and he is a recipient of the David M. Kennedy Center’s Distinguished Service Award.
