Kurt Holmgren joined the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service officer in 2010 and has since served in Brasilia, New Delhi, and Astana. Holmgren’s next post will be in Tbilisi starting later this summer. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he was vice president of several digital media firms in the Washington, D.C., area and worked on Capitol Hill. He received a BA in international studies from the David M. Kennedy Center and speaks Russian, Hindi, and Portuguese. Holmgren and his wife are the parents of five children.
