Col. Allen A. Arvig (Ret.) served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including time as a Marine Security Guard, before serving a mission to Peru at age twenty-two. Arvig later joined BYU’s Army ROTC and served as a field artillery officer and intelligence officer before retiring as an attaché in 2005. In 2006, he served as a civilian instructor for Ethiopian NATO forces. His church service and military assignments have taken him to El Salvador, Vietnam, Peru, Germany, Washington, D.C., Paraguay, Panama, Ethiopia, and the Dominican Republic. Arvig received a BA from Southern Utah State College and an MIE from BYU.
