Museum of Musical Instruments

Internship at the Musée des Instruments de Musique (Musical Instruments Museum), Brussels, Belgium

We welcome applicants for BYU internships at the Musical Instruments Museum in Brussels. Applicants should have a good background in musicology, musical performance, or music history. It is not necessary for interns to speak French or Dutch, but it would be helpful. It would also be nice—but not necessary--if applicants spoke a language common among tourists in Europe (German, Spanish, Swedish, Chinese, Japanese, etc).

The directors of the museum are looking for applicants who are reliable, self-motivated, and excellent team players. The museum directors will have the final say about which BYU applicants are chosen for the internship.

If you are interested in this internship, please complete the following steps:

  • Apply for the Brussels/Geneva/Vienna: Global Leaders in Europe internship program
  • Schedule an interview with the program directors
  • With the help of the program directors, prepare a resume and a cover letter and practice your interview skills
  • Ask the program directors to submit your application to the museum directors in Brussels
  • ALL decisions about internships rest with the museum directors in Brussels. The selection process can be competitive.
  • If you are selected as an intern, sign up for the ISP prep class and carefully follow all ISP instructions as you prepare to leave for Brussels
