Joey Leavitt is a Foreign Service Officer (FSO), former intelligence analyst, and serious music aficionado. As a consular-coned FSO, Joey has run overseas operations for immigrant visas, non-immigrant visas, and American citizen services in El Salvador, Abu Dhabi, and India. He also served as a political and economic officer in Saudi Arabia and a State Department liaison with the intelligence community during a tour in Washington, DC. Joey studied Arabic for a year in Syria on his way to a BA in Middle East Studies/Arabic from BYU, and he also holds a law degree. He’s dad to three adult children and one high schooler, husband to a project manager in the tech industry, and loves trail running, reading, photography, and thinking about 80’s power ballads. Joey is currently studying Chinese in preparation for a tour in Taiwan.
