The Hunger Banquet has been a staple event during BYU’s Care Week for over three decades, helping attendees learn about global inequality and how to get involved.

Dinner and a program will begin at 7:00 PM in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. Attendees will randomly be assigned to a social class and fed a meal typical of that income level. The program will feature speakers who will discuss food insecurity globally, in Utah, and even here on BYU campus.

Proceeds from this event will benefit New Roots SLC, a Utah-based nonprofit associated with the International Rescue Committee, which seeks to empower refugees and build a healthier community through the development of small scale, urban farms and community gardens in Salt Lake City.

This event is put on by the Students for International Development (SID) club at BYU.
