Philip Egger, diplomat-in-residence, arrived at Arizona State University in August 2011. Egger has been a Foreign Service officer with the Department of State since 1980 and currently holds the rank of minister-counselor. He has had a wide variety of assignments both overseas and in Washington, with his most recent assignment as consul general at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy.
