Have you wanted to design and build your own bike—from scratch—and then ride the bike across Europe, while visiting amazing sites and businesses, such as LEGO corporate offices, the WHO (World Health Organization), and Cadbury Chocolate factory, among many others? The purpose of this study abroad program is to engage you in an exciting manufacturing/engineering-design experiential learning opportunity. The experiential learning opportunity will start in England, where you will be building your own bike (design, brazing, welding, etc.) in a small bike-building academy. No experience needed; they’ll teach it all to you.
After spending time at the academy, we will take our newly minted bikes to France to visit a few bio-engineering companies (don’t worry, we’ll take the train to Paris but ride our bikes around town), and then train to Denmark to visit Lego HQ and the WHO, while also using our bikes to explore Copenhagen. This is the study abroad program of a lifetime: learning, coupled with skill building, and great cultural experiences!
