Research
The Kennedy Center has made a continuing commitment to four research centers who support and produce ongoing research in their area of focus. And each year, due to the generosity of its donors, the center funds significant research in the broad area of international studies.
Undergraduate Grants
The David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies funds a limited number of BYU undergraduate proposals on a rolling basis. Requests should include a description of your project and indicate academic and departmental/support in terms of faculty advisors and matching sources of funding. You should also include a detailed budget request of anticipated expenses and all income sources.
Our criteria for funding includes the following:
- Priority given to Kennedy Center undergraduates or affiliates (students participating in a Kennedy Center-sponsored Study Abroad, International Internship, Field Study, student program, student organization, etc.)
- Emphasis on supporting undergraduate academic work (research, paper presentations at academic conference) and professional activities
- Demonstration of faculty mentoring and involvement required
- Proposals should demonstrate a solid connection to the mission and aims of a BYU education as well as the Kennedy Center’s core mission to support international, interdisciplinary educational opportunities.
Anticipated turnaround time for request is two–three weeks. Submit requests directly to us at KennedyCenter@byu.edu (preferred) or at the Kennedy Center (237 HRCB).
