To better understand the challenges and opportunities facing our common heritage, we will visit both natural and historical sites in Mediterranean Europe, including Spain, Switzerland, and Italy. By exploring contrasts among different types of national parks in different countries, this study abroad will give students context to understand challenges and solutions in preserving both God-given and human-created landscapes. Students will also have a Eurail pass to explore further on their own each weekend (Friday–Sunday). As a group, we will learn in ancient cities from Barcelona to Rome and in incredible natural areas from Spanish canyons to Swiss Alps.
Student Choice: We have two Parks of the World programs, one in the United States (1–14 May) and one in the Mediterranean (15 May–15 June). You may choose to come on either or both. If choosing both programs, select “Parks of the World 1 & 2 Combined” when applying.
