Pforzheim Student Exchange/Direct Enrollment 2010
What is Student Exchange/Direct Enrollment?
Based on reciprocity, the Student Exchange Program provides undergraduate and graduate business students with an opportunity to attend Pforzheim University, a top business school in Pforzheim, Germany. One of the main benefits of SEP is that students have the opportunity to study at a foreign institution for the cost of studying at BYU. Students get to develop their understanding of a new culture with minimal additional costs.Pforzheim
The city of Pforzheim is located in Southwest Germany. It is an important regional economic and cultural center and every day approximately 30,000 commuters converge on the city. The population of the city is almost 119,000, and due to its geographical location on the edge of the northern Black Forest, the city boasts a well-balanced infrastructure and an attractive location for living and the pursuit of outdoor activities. The city has a wide variety of cultural activities including a city theatre, the South-West German Chamber Orchestra, the Osterfeld cultural center, and a total of eleven museums, which partly describe the historical industrial background of the city. The jewelry museum in the Reuchlinhaus building presents an extraordinary and unique collection of jewelry pieces ranging from the ancient world to the present day. The technical museum of the Pforzheim jewelry and watch making industry documents the story of this traditional industry from the eighteenth century up to present. The Pforzheim Jewellery World exhibition offers a unique insight into the jewelry and watch making industry. International visitors to the renovated Industriehaus building can inform themselves, look at the workshop, or view the latest collections of the Pforzheim jewelry industry.
