Welcome to the International Study Programs application page.
Thank you for your interest in going abroad. Your participation in a program will give you a life-changing, never-to-be-forgotten experience.
Please read all of the following carefully, and complete all of the information as accurately as possible.
Before entering this application, you should have decided what program you want to apply for. If not, please take some time to explore the Programs page, and then start your journey.
In this application, you will need to log-in using your BYU net ID. If you do not have a net ID you may create one here.
You will also be asked to sign a legally binding agreement, which outlines your obligations and responsibilities and the obligations and responsibilities of Brigham Young University. If you would like to read this agreement before entering the application process, you will find it here
In addition, you will be asked to write a short letter of intent for your program. Since this letter will be used in the selection process, you may wish to take the time to compose this before starting the process and then cut and paste it into the application text field.
Depending on your program, you may also be asked to provide one or more of the following during the application process:
- List of academic references (basic contact information from 2–3 professors, counselors, employers, etc.) (for Study Abroad applicants only).
- Resume (may be provided electronically) (for Field Studies, Internships, and Direct Enrollment).
- Letters of recommendation (will need to be sent to International Study Program office) (for Field Studies, Internships, and Direct Enrollment).
Please refer to your specific program flyer to find out which of these documents are required for your program. It is not required to complete the application in one sitting. However, once you hit the "my application is now complete" button at the end of this process, your application will be forwarded to the faculty director for evaluation. You may still add information, such as your passport number, but you will not be able to add your letter of intent after your application is processed.
Finally, your application will not be complete until you pay the nonrefundable application fee. This may be paid by check, e-transfer, or credit card. If you choose to pay by credit card, you will be assessed an additional 3 percent fee as per BYU policy.
Non-BYU students will also be asked to send in a transcript and an ecclesiastical endorsement form.
